December Sportfishing Outlook for Tamarindo / Flamingo area Moon:

Conditions:  Calm to moderate Seas  Variable winds

Outlook:  December fishing in Tamarindo is busy!! The post COVID travel boom is in full effect and the new US testing mandates that are soon to roll out don’t seem to be an issue (re-entry to US will require a negative COVID test within 24 hrs, easily done here).

Offshore action brings mixed bag fishing for Mahi, Tuna, Sailfish, and Marlin but will continue to slide towards consistent action with billfish mainly.
Nearshore action consist of lots of jigging for bottom species, trolling for live bait and then soaking them around structure for large Cubbera Snapper and Roosterfish.  Small Mahi can be caught as well as small football Yellowfin Tuna.
Onshore action has been on the fly for river fish in small rafts with dual shooter seats. We can help arrange these tours
